Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated LAMDA Teacher to join our teamin Gerrards Cross and Chorleywood. Our usual structure is to teach students in pairs, preparing them for solo exams in Acting and Verse & Prose.
The hours available are:
- From w/c 6th September, 4.30 - 6.30pm on either Wednesday or Thursday evenings in Gerrards Cross (potential for additional hours)
- From w/c 9th November, 4.45 - 8.15pm on Mondays in Chorleywood (LAMDA)
- Option to add group drama class teaching on Tuesdays, 4.45 - 8.45pm in Chorleywood
An enhanced DBS certificate will be required for this role. If you already have one registered on the update service we can accept this, or if not we can help process a new check.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drama and speech training, with the ability to inspire students of various ages and skill levels. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster confidence, creativity, and communication skills through engaging lessons centred around the LAMDA syllabus. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality tuition in a supportive environment, helping students achieve their personal and academic goals.
Duties
- Prepare and deliver engaging drama and speech lessons aligned with the LAMDA syllabus - we usually prepare students for Acting and Verse & Prose exams
- Assess students’ progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their development
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements
- Regularly up date the Principal regarding student progress, readiness for exams and any issues that may have arisen
- Keep up-to-date with developments in drama education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons
- Follow our child protection policy to ensure you are safeguarding the students at all times
Skills
- Proven experience teaching or coaching in speech and drama
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students of all ages
- Organised with strong planning skills
- Patient, adaptable, and able to create an engaging learning environment
- Knowledge of the LAMDA syllabus and examination requirements is highly desirable but we can support someone if they do not have this
- Ability to work independently

Pay: £20.00-£26.00 per hour
