Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fire Stopper to join one of our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing fire-resistant barriers and ensuring compliance with safety standards across various building sites. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, safety protocols, and the ability to work with a variety of tools and materials. The Fire Stopper will play a vital part in safeguarding structures against fire hazards, contributing to the safety of occupants and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

Install fire-resistant barriers, such as intumescent paints, sealants, and fire-stopping materials within walls, floors, and ceilings.
Work closely with project managers and other trades to ensure timely completion of fire stopping tasks.
Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans to determine appropriate installation methods.
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and install fire-stopping products accurately.
Conduct inspections to verify that installations meet safety standards and building codes.
Collaborate with roofing, plumbing, electrical, masonry, carpentry, plastering, welding, fabrication, construction painting, and other trades as required.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency on site.
Follow all health and safety regulations diligently during all phases of work.

Requirements

Proven experience in construction
Knowledge of schematics and technical drawings relevant to fire stopping installations.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, and construction materials.
Familiarity with building safety standards and fire protection regulations.
Ability to interpret technical instructions accurately and work independently or as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in installation procedures.
Physical fitness to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights if necessary.
Relevant construction experience is essential for ensuring quality workmanship.

Pay: £22.00-£25.00 per hour
