Full job description

About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our Accounts team in Scorrier, Redruth. The successful candidate will support the organisation’s financial operations by managing various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining efficient financial processes. This role supports the Finance Manager and wider Accounts team with day-to-day bookkeeping and general accounting duties.

Key responsibilities include:

Processing and logging supplier invoices
Issuing sales invoices
Handling queries from internal teams, customers and suppliers
Performing credit checks on clients
Completing PQQ's and accreditations for the business
Checking customer statements
Allocating remittance payments
Support month end and year end closing procedures
Answering phone calls and accurately relaying messages
General Administration tasks as required

About You:

Minimum of 1 year's experience in a similar finance or accounting role
Proficient in Xero, Alpha Tracker, Excel and Word
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Good understanding of financial services operations and accounting principles
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Clear and professional communication skills - both written and verbal

Hours and Location:

Based at Scorrier, Cornwall.

Hours - Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17:00

Reports to - Finance Manager
