Woodham Taxi Ltd is seeking reliable, professional, self-employed Private Hire Vehicle drivers to work primarily on Friday and Saturday evenings and nights in South Woodham Ferrers and the surrounding areas.
This is a flexible, freelance owner-driver opportunity with no fixed working hours. Drivers can choose when they start and finish work and may make themselves available according to their own preferences.
Drivers retain 80% of the fares from the bookings they complete.
Applicants must provide their own suitably licensed private hire vehicle. Estate cars and SUVs are preferred because they can accommodate passengers, luggage and airport-transfer bookings more effectively.
Types of Bookings
Woodham Taxi Ltd accommodates a wide range of passenger journeys, including:

Duties
- Safely transport passengers to their requested destinations.
- Provide a polite, reliable and professional service.
- Work primarily during Friday and Saturday evening and nighttime periods.
- Accept and complete suitable bookings made available through Woodham Taxi Ltd.
- Plan routes effectively to minimise unnecessary delays.
- Assist passengers with luggage, boarding or leaving the vehicle when appropriate.
- Keep your vehicle clean, presentable, safe and roadworthy.
- Comply with all applicable private hire licensing requirements, road traffic laws and insurance conditions.
- Communicate clearly with passengers and Woodham Taxi Ltd regarding collections, destinations and delays.
- Represent Woodham Taxi Ltd professionally while completing bookings.
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a valid UK driving licence.
- Hold a valid Private Hire Driver Licence.
- Provide their own suitably licensed Private Hire Vehicle.
- Maintain valid hire-and-reward insurance and all other legally required vehicle documentation.
- Have clear spoken English and good English listening and comprehension skills.
- Be reliable, punctual, professional and customer-focused.
- Be able to use a smartphone for receiving booking information, navigation and communication.
- Have good knowledge of South Woodham Ferrers and the surrounding areas, or be able to navigate them confidently.
- Keep their vehicle clean, comfortable and in good working order.
- Be available primarily for Friday and Saturday evening or nighttime bookings.
Preferred Applicants
Preference may be given to drivers who:
- Live in South Woodham Ferrers or nearby.
- Know South Woodham Ferrers and the surrounding areas particularly well.
- Own an estate car or SUV.
- Have previous private hire, taxi, chauffeur or professional driving experience.
- Have experience completing airport transfers, event transport or long-distance bookings.
Earnings and Flexibility
- Drivers retain 80% of the fares from completed bookings.
