Full job description

Orange Grove Hotel & Gardens offers over 25,000 square feet of Victorian splendour situated within 9 acres of landscaped grounds and woodland. The venue is perfectly located between Fareham and Southampton, just minutes from junction 9 of the M27 (Whiteley).

Hotel

We have 28 large, characteristic hotel suites that are equally suited to leisure or business travellers.

Food & Beverage

We offer a range of seasonal, customer-focused food and beverage across breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea and Sunday roasts. We offer private dining in elegant spaces such as our Montefiore Suite and Boardroom, as well as 6 outdoor garden pods for intimate dining. We have a 65+ cover restaurant, over 100 outdoor dining covers served by an outdoor cabin bar, alongside a comfortable guest lounge and a premium cocktail bar in the main building.

Events

We are actively growing this sector of the business and provide exceptional surroundings and service for weddings, celebrations of life, bridal and baby showers, private parties, corporate events and more. Our Victorian Orangery has its own dedicated bar and hosts exceptional events across all seasons. The venue catering is serviced by 2 professional kitchens.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, organised and hands on Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team and take responsibility for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation and service throughout our hotel bedrooms and public areas.

This is a hands on leadership role. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day housekeeping operation, supporting and motivating the team, carrying out detailed room inspections and ensuring that every room is prepared to the highest standard for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, support and motivate the housekeeping team on a daily basis.
Allocate daily room and housekeeping duties and ensure shifts are effectively managed.
Carry out detailed room inspections using the company housekeeping checklist.
Ensure all rooms and public areas meet our high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation.
Personally clean a portion of rooms each day to demonstrate the required standard.
Prepare the weekly housekeeping rota and arrange cover for holidays and sickness.
Conduct team briefings and support the training and development of staff.
Monitor cleaning products, toiletries, guest amenities and linen, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
Manage stock usage to minimise waste and control costs.
Ensure all housekeeping procedures, health and safety policies and cleaning protocols are followed.
Report and follow up on maintenance issues.
Work closely with Front Office, Maintenance and Management to ensure the smooth running of the hotel.
Provide regular updates to management regarding staffing, stock and housekeeping standards.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be reliable, organised and have excellent attention to detail. You will take pride in maintaining high standards and have the confidence to lead and support a team.

Previous hotel housekeeping experience is preferred, with supervisory or team leadership experience an advantage. You will be hands on, professional and willing to lead by example.

The right candidate will be passionate about creating a clean, welcoming and comfortable environment for our guests and will play an important role in the continued success of Orange Grove Hotel & Gardens.

35 hours per week

Pay: £24,600.00 per year
