Room Leader – Early Years (Nursery) Millie's House Nursery & Pre-School, Fulham Reach Distillery Lane, Fulham Reach, London W6 9PL

About us

Millie's House Fulham Reach is a beautiful 92-place nursery caring for children from three months to five years. Housed in a modern, purpose-built building overlooking Frank Banfield Park and just a few minutes from Hammersmith station, our setting is flooded with natural light and opens onto a spacious private garden. Each age group enjoys its own dedicated room and garden area, with children learning through play across five bright, welcoming rooms.

Our mission is simple: to provide a happy, warm and nurturing environment where every child can learn, grow and develop the resilience to try new things and reach their full potential.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Room Leader to take the lead in one of our rooms. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of your room, creating a stimulating, safe and caring environment, and leading a small team to deliver outstanding early years care and education in line with the EYFS framework.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Leading and overseeing the daily routine, planning and organisation of your room
Acting as a key person for a group of children, building strong, trusting relationships and supporting their individual development
Planning and delivering engaging, play-based activities aligned to the EYFS
Observing, assessing and recording children's progress, and sharing this with parents and carers
Supporting, mentoring and supervising the practitioners in your room
Building warm, professional partnerships with families
Ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing at all times
Maintaining accurate records and meeting all statutory and regulatory requirements

About you

A Level 3 (or above) Early Years qualification (essential)
Proven experience working in an early years setting, ideally with some leadership or key person responsibility
Strong, up-to-date knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements
A warm, caring and proactive approach, with the confidence to lead and inspire a team
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
Paediatric First Aid certification (desirable, or willingness to obtain)
