Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Mentor to join our educational team, committed to inspiring and supporting students on their learning journeys. In this vital role, you will work closely with students to foster confidence, develop essential skills, and overcome barriers to learning. Your energetic approach will motivate learners to reach their full potential, creating a positive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and empowered. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives through mentorship, tailored support, and engaging educational activities.

Duties

Provide one-on-one mentoring sessions to support students’ academic progress and personal development
Develop personalized learning plans that address individual needs, strengths, and areas for improvement
Assist students in setting achievable goals and tracking their progress over time
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to coordinate support strategies and share insights
Create engaging activities that promote confidence, resilience, and positive behavior
Offer guidance on study skills, organization, time management, and social-emotional skills
Monitor student attendance and engagement, intervening early when challenges arise to ensure continued progress

Qualifications

Proven experience in teaching or tutoring within educational settings or youth programs
Strong background working with children or young people, especially those requiring additional support such as special education needs
Excellent mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds
Knowledge of youth work principles and strategies for supporting emotional well-being
Effective communication skills to build trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues
Ability to adapt approaches based on individual student needs and circumstances
Relevant qualifications in education, youth work or special education are highly desirable
