Job Role and Responsibilities
· Design, develop, test, maintain, and enhance scalable Python and SQL-based software solutions that support business applications, data processing, and cloud-based integration requirements.
· Develop and maintain software components and ETL/ELT processes for integrating, transforming, and processing data from multiple source systems.
· Design and maintain data warehouse structures using Star Schema and Snowflake Schema.
· Write, review, and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
· Build, maintain, and support data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Snowflake.
· Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes for integrating data from multiple source systems.
· Design and maintain data warehouse structures using Star Schema and Snowflake Schema.
· Write, review, and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
· Develop data-processing and transformation solutions using Python and SQL.
· Perform data cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure accurate processing and reporting.
· Support data migration, transformation, and integration activities across cloud and on-premises environments.
· Develop and maintain Azure Data Factory pipelines for data ingestion and transformation.
· Work with Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Snowflake to support data-processing requirements.
· Assist in developing Apache Spark-based data-processing solutions where required.
· Develop and maintain database and data-integration components supporting business applications.
· Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, and QA teams to translate business and technical requirements into reliable software and data-driven solutions.
· Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across software components, ETL jobs, data pipelines, and databases, and optimise overall solution performance.
· Support data integration and cloud transformation activities across different systems and platforms.
· Use Git or SVN for version control and management of development components.
· Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
· Contribute ideas for improving data-processing, ETL/ELT, database, cloud integration, and automation processes.
Required Skills and Experience
· Master's degree in Computer Science (mandatory).
· 8+ years of experience in Software Development, Data Engineering, Data Analysis, BI Development, or a similar data-focused technical role.
· Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for software development, data processing, database integration, and automation.
· Strong expertise in SQL development, query optimisation, stored procedures, and data modelling.
· Experience designing, developing, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
· Experience working with Snowflake or other cloud-based data warehouse platforms.
· Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
· Working knowledge of Apache Spark and distributed data processing.
· Good understanding of data warehousing concepts, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema.
· Experience with cloud storage solutions and reporting tools such as Power BI.
· Knowledge of data validation, data quality, reconciliation, and performance optimisation techniques.
· Experience working with ETL tools such as SSIS and cloud-based data integration platforms.
· Experience with data migration, transformation, and integration across cloud and on-premises environments.
· Understanding of database performance tuning and SQL query optimisation.
· Experience working with large and complex datasets.
· Experience with version control tools such as Git or SVN.
· Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline, ETL/ELT, SQL, database, and data-processing issues.
· Good stakeholder communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
· Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Pay: £36,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
