Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Yard Worker to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining stock and loading/unloading lorries. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where teamwork and attention to detail are key to success.
Possible progression and training offered for hard working and reliable workers. Possibility to undertake training in forklifts and other machinery along with HGV driving qualifications and scaffolding qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials. Where qualified, this will include using forklifts and other mechanical equipment, ensuring safe handling at all times
- Servicing and maintaining scaffolding equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections of yard equipment, including forklifts, for proper functioning and safety compliance
- Assist with materials handling tasks such as sorting, stacking, and organizing supplies in the yard and warehouse
Qualifications
- A CSCS card is advantageous
- Proven experience operating forklifts with valid certification preferred
- Prior scaffolding yard experience is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various weather conditions
- Strong understanding of materials handling techniques and safety procedures
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Full UK driving license is preferable but not essential as long as the operative can make their own way to the yard.
