Weekend Dog Care Assistant – The Fairy Tails (Hastings)
The Fairy Tails is looking for a reliable and motivated weekend dog care assistant to support our boarding operations. This role is ideal for someone who is confident around dogs, enjoys hands-on work, and understands the importance of safety, structure, and animal welfare in a busy dog care environment.
About the Role
You will be responsible for assisting with the care and management of dogs during weekends, ensuring all dogs are safe, clean, and well looked after. This is a practical, fast-paced role requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Working Hours
Saturday: 08:00 – 16:30 (8 hours with a 30-minute unpaid break)
Sunday: 08:00 – 12:00 (4 hours, no break)
Total: 12 hours per weekend
Key Responsibilities
Caring for dogs in a structured and controlled environment, including safe handling and supervision
Cleaning and maintaining kennels, play areas, feeding stations, and equipment
Feeding dogs according to their individual requirements
Monitoring dog behaviour and reporting any concerns
Supporting basic training structure and maintaining calm, controlled behaviour
Following all health, safety, and hygiene protocols in line with licensing standards
What We Are Looking For: -
Confident handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments
Strong awareness of safety in a group dog environment
Reliable, hard-working, and able to work independently
Good attention to detail, especially with cleaning and routines
Interest in dog behaviour and training
Experience
Previous experience with dogs is preferred but not essential. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are key.
