Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Water Rescue Technician to join our safety boat team. This vital role involves performing water rescue operations, ensuring safety during marine emergencies/projects, and providing first aid when necessary. Duties
- Conduct water rescue operations using appropriate equipment and techniques to save individuals in distress.
- Assess situations rapidly and implement effective rescue strategies in accordance with established protocols.
- Provide first aid and emergency medical assistance to rescued individuals until further medical support arrives.
- Maintain and inspect rescue equipment regularly to ensure operational readiness.
- Lead by example during emergency situations, demonstrating leadership and calmness under pressure.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance rescue skills, first aid knowledge, and emergency management capabilities.
- Collaborate with other emergency services and team members to coordinate rescue efforts efficiently.
- Document rescue activities accurately for post-operation review and reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience or training in water rescue operations is highly desirable.
- Valid certification in first aid and CPR (or equivalent) recognised by relevant authorities desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to remain composed during high-stress situations.
- Knowledge of emergency management principles and protocols related to aquatic rescues.
- Physical fitness suitable for demanding water rescue tasks/intertidal river projects and the ability to lift or carry equipment or individuals as needed.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Willingness to undertake continuous professional development through specialised training programmes.
- Valid UK Driving License
- PB2 License Desirable
