Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and energetic Junior sous chef to join our dynamic team! In this entry-level role, you will gain hands-on experience in food production, kitchen operations, and team management while supporting our culinary and hospitality initiatives. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop foundational skills in food preparation, cooking, and food safety within a lively and fast-paced environment. As a Junior sous chef, you will be instrumental in assisting senior staff, ensuring smooth kitchen operations, and delivering exceptional service to our guests. Duties

Assist with food preparation and cooking under supervision, ensuring adherence to recipes and safety standards
Support the kitchen team in daily food production tasks, maintaining cleanliness and organization
Help oversee food safety protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations
Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent hospitality experiences for guests
Supervise junior staff or volunteers when necessary, providing guidance and support in their tasks
Contribute to maintaining a well-organized kitchen environment, including stock management and equipment upkeep
Participate in team meetings and training sessions focused on culinary skills, food safety, and customer service

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety procedures
Supervising or team management experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership potential
Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices within food production environments
Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team setting
Experience in serving customers or guests is beneficial but not mandatory; a positive attitude is key
