A 'Live Out' Groundsman/Gardening position is available with an immediate start. It includes groundsman duties, gardening duties and light farm work, including animal care.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lawn mowing, maintenance, and spraying.
- Hedge cutting, strimming, leaf blowing, weeding, pruning shrubs, pruning trees.
- Digging, edging lawns, planting and soft landscaping when instructed.
- Tidying and organising of working areas.
- Tractor driving, paddock maintenance and fence repairs.
- Minor Livestock (Longhorn Cattle) management, feeding and health checks.
- Monitoring lighting and irrigation systems.
- Fixing property defects as required. Reporting back issues and problems found on site.
- Vehicle cleaning and maintenance. Keeping your work vehicle tidy and equipped with all the materials and equipment required to do your duties.
- Management and oversight of adhoc staff / tradesman.
- Maintaining the gardens of other company properties when required.
- Driving and errands to support Business requirements.
- Support with Estate and Company events.
About You
You will need a cheerful disposition and to act in a courteous manner.
Working in a safe and responsible manner at all times. Following correct methods as described in the method statement in the Health and Safety Manual, Ensuring use of correct PPE to carry out tasks.
Ensuring correct use, maintenance and safety of gardening tools
You will need to have 2years Gardening and Groundsman experience on Private Estates.
Excellent time management and strong work ethic essential.
Farm or Estate experience are essential.
Any Horticultural experience a bonus.
Good mechanical knowledge essential.
A full UK driving license as driving is required.
A proactive approach to getting the job done, with good attention to detail.
Presentable and excellent communicator.
A team player with potential to manage other team members.
A good sickness and attendance record.
Pass a Company Advanced DBS check.
Working Hours
This is a full time role. Working hours will mostly be during the week, but occasional weekend assistance will be required to assist with event organising or to help with animal care. Any weekend help will be advised in advance, and alternative days off offered. If required work a bank holiday then you will be given the day back in Lieu.
