Optical Assistant / Dispensing Optician – Andrew and Rogers Optometrists, Beverley

At Andrew and Rogers Optometrists in Beverley, we believe outstanding patient care starts with kindness, patience, and a genuine smile. We’re looking for an Optical Assistant to join our team — and we welcome applications from registered Dispensing Opticians too.

About the Role

This is a patient-facing role where you’ll make people feel comfortable, supported, and valued. You’ll be responsible for:

Welcoming patients and ensuring they feel at ease throughout their visit
Developing genuine relationships with customers
Advising on frame and lens choices with care and understanding
Fitting, adjusting, and repairing spectacles
Supporting our optometrists with pre-screening
Helping on reception and assisting with everyday practice tasks

About You

While experience in optics is preferred, it’s not everything. The most important thing you’ll bring is genuine warmth and empathy. You’ll thrive in this role if you are:

Friendly, approachable, and naturally caring
A good listener who enjoys helping others
Professional, reliable, and a real team player
Organised with an eye for detail
Experienced in optics (preferred) or a qualified Dispensing Optician
