Are you a dedicated and passionate Social Worker looking to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families? West Berkshire Council is seeking a Social Worker to join our Children and Family Services team, reporting to the Team Manager, at our Market Street Offices. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, where you can contribute to the safeguarding and well-being of children in our local community.

About the Role

As a Social Worker within the Children and Family Services team, you will be responsible for:

Conducting assessments and identifying the needs of children and their families.
Providing appropriate interventions and support to ensure the best outcomes for children.
Working in partnership with other professionals, agencies, and families to promote the welfare of children.
Maintaining accurate and timely records, including case notes and reports.
Attending court hearings and providing evidence when required.
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and professional standards.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

Qualified Social Worker with a valid Social Work England registration.
Experience working in a children and family services environment, ideally within a local authority.
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding practices.
Excellent assessment, intervention, and report writing skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritise tasks.
Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
