The Role
Commercially focused analytical role responsible for analysing sales, customer, product, pricing and margin data to improve performance, protect profitability and support decision-making. Working closely with Sales and Commercial teams to identify trends, risks and opportunities and maximise commercial return.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Performance & Profitability
- Monitor sales, margin and profitability across customers, products and sales channels.
- Analyse sales trends and identify areas of concern and opportunities
- Investigate margin movements and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
- Maintain key performance measures and provide commercial insight.
Sales & Commercial Support
- Produce sales, margin and profitability reports.
- Provide analysis and insight to support decision-making for customer reviews and meetings.
- Support pricing reviews and commercial planning.
- Highlight significant trends, variances and risks.
- Ensure commercial information is accurate and understood.
Reporting & Business Improvement
- Maintain and improve reporting processes.
- Ensure data is accurate, up to date and clearly presented.
- Investigate discrepancies and unexpected changes in performance.
- Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting.
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Purchasing and the Commercial team to enhance performance.
Person Specification
- Commercially minded, analytical and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working with data and using insight to improve business performance.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
- Comfortable using technology and AI tools.
- Strong numerical, organisational and problem-solving ability.
- Commercial awareness and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate insights clearly and manage priorities effectively.
