Support Worker – Specialist Eating Disorder Rehabilitation

Our Support Workers are known within Bramacare as Everyday Living Support Assistants (ELSAs) because that's exactly what they do: support residents with everyday living, recovery and achieving their personal goals.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you'll work alongside Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Dietitians and the wider multidisciplinary team to support adults receiving specialist eating disorder rehabilitation.

No two days are the same. One moment you could be supporting a resident during a therapeutic meal, the next helping someone build confidence in the community, develop independent living skills, attend appointments or simply offering emotional support during a difficult day.

You'll become a familiar and trusted part of each resident's recovery journey, helping them achieve the small milestones that lead to life-changing progress.

Your Responsibilities

Build positive and therapeutic relationships with residents.
Support residents with everyday living skills such as cooking, shopping, budgeting and maintaining their living environment.
Provide therapeutic support during meals and snacks.
Encourage participation in activities, education, volunteering and community access.
Support residents to achieve their individual recovery goals.
Provide emotional support and encouragement throughout the day.
Observe and report changes in residents' physical or mental wellbeing.
Complete accurate daily records and handovers.
Promote dignity, independence, choice and person-centred care.
Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding care.
Help create a safe, welcoming and therapeutic home environment.

What We're Looking ForEssential

Reliability and a willingness to learn.
Ability to work well within a team.
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

Desirable

Experience working as a Support Worker, Care Assistant or Healthcare Assistant.
Experience supporting people with mental health needs.
Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards one).

No previous experience in eating disorders? No problem.

We provide a comprehensive induction and specialist training, so we're more interested in your values, compassion and willingness to learn than your previous experience.
