About The Role

Focused on being part of a team and making an impact

With plans for future library improvements this is an excellent time to join Islington Libraries as a Librarian. We deliver high quality services with a strong customer focus approach. We are looking for talented, committed individuals to help to take the service forward.

You will need to have a strong interest in:

Reader Development and promoting the service, including delivering activities
Developing diverse and inclusive stock collections that reflects the needs of the community and encourages engagement
Serving the whole community including children and families, and those traditionally excluded
Developing outreach activities and working with partners to increase library membership and take-up

The post of Librarian assists in the management of a busy branch library. Applicants must have previous experience of working in a library; skills and experience in premises and staff management and be able to work as part of a team. Excellent people skills and a commitment to providing a high level of customer service are essential.

This is a part-time post at South Library, comprising 26.5 hours per week, worked on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and alternate Saturdays. Evening working is required.
