About Us
Field Services Recovery is a well-established, family-run vehicle recovery and roadside assistance company operating across the South West. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a reliable and motivated Roadside Technician & Class 2 (Category C) Recovery Driver to join our Plymouth depot.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll attend roadside breakdowns in a service van, assist customers at the roadside, and recover vehicles safely and professionally using our recovery fleet.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Attending roadside breakdowns in a service van.
- Diagnosing and repairing faults at the roadside where possible.
- Carrying out battery replacements, jump starts, diagnostics and other roadside assistance.
- Recovering cars, vans and light commercial vehicles.
- Operating Class 2 recovery vehicles safely and professionally.
- Completing daily vehicle safety checks and maintaining company equipment.
- Providing excellent customer service and representing Field Services Recovery in a professional manner.
- Participating in an on-call rota and undertaking overtime when required.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Category C (Class 2) driving licence or higher.
- Valid Driver CPC.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good mechanical knowledge and practical fault-finding ability.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A professional, reliable and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
Desirable Skills
- Previous roadside assistance or vehicle recovery experience is preferred.
- Experience working on cars, vans or commercial vehicles.
- Knowledge of vehicle loading and recovery equipment.
- HIAB or specialist recovery experience is advantageous but not essential.
Don't have recovery experience?
No problem. While previous recovery experience is preferred, it isn't essential. If you have the right attitude, strong work ethic and a willingness to learn, we'll provide full training to help you build a rewarding career in roadside assistance and vehicle recovery.
