The Opportunity
We're currently recruiting for two Transport Coordinators to join our busy transport operation.
We have two shift patterns available:
- Tuesday to Saturday, 18:00 PM to 02:30 AM
- 4 on, 4 off shift pattern from 06:00 AM to 18:00 PM
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team during a period of significant investment and transformation. The successful candidates will initially be based at our current site, with the team relocating to our state-of-the-art new Distribution Centre in Avonmouth from Summer 2027, offering a modern working environment and supporting our long-term growth plans.
What you'll be doing
Reporting into the Transport Shift Manager you will take responsibility for:
- Act as the first point of contact for drivers, managing briefs, debriefs, and resolving queries efficiently.
- Ensure legal compliance relating to the Operating License.
- Deliver operational excellence and continuous improvements across cost, service and peak planning.
- Provide exceptional customer service, resolving and escalating live operational issues.
- Monitor route performance, ensure timely delivery, manage supplier queries and escalate issues to management where required.
- Manage daily administrative tasks efficiently, including payroll, holidays, exceptions and scheduling.
- Assist with wider team administration and export activities, ensuring compliance and adherence to rules and regulations.
What we're looking for
To be successful in your application you will have proven experience of working within a fast-paced transport environment, ideally within an FMCG or 3PL environment. You will be experienced in collaborating and communicating with wider transport teams and drivers, confident in briefing and debriefing and capable of resolving queries quickly and confidently. You will be IT literate able to use Microsoft packages in particular Word, Outlook and Excel.
It goes without saying that you’ll be a team player, natural problem solver with a high attention to detail and a passion for all things transport.
Role details:
Salary: Up to £31,400 per annum + Up to £3,500 night shift premium
Working hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 18:00 PM to 02:30 AM or 4 on, 4 off shift pattern from 06:00 AM to 18:00 PM
