Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Shop Assistant/Cashier to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing transactions accurately, and supporting the organisation of store merchandise. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and a positive attitude. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop retail experience within a dynamic environment.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs
Operate the cash register efficiently, handling cash, card payments, and refunds
Provide information about products and promote relevant items through upselling techniques
Maintain organised merchandising displays to enhance store presentation
Answer customer enquiries via phone with professional etiquette
Manage stock levels, restock shelves, and ensure the store remains tidy and welcoming
Assist in processing deliveries and organising stockroom areas
Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth store operations

Requirements

Excellent communication skills in English;
Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
Friendly phone etiquette and professional demeanour when interacting with customers
Ability to upsell products politely to maximise sales opportunities
Good organisational skills for maintaining neat displays and stock management
Previous retail or cashier experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
Ability to work well within a team and independently when required

We are seeking a part time member of staff to join our friendly team.
