Dog Walker & Dog Care Volunteer

Doggy Adventures is looking for a reliable, enthusiastic volunteer to join our team one day a week and gain valuable hands-on experience working with dogs in a professional environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is considering a career in dog walking, dog care, animal welfare or the wider pet industry and wants to get their foot in the door and build real-world experience.
What you’ll be doing
As a volunteer, you’ll work alongside our experienced team and help with a variety of day-to-day activities, which may include:
- Helping with group dog walks and dog care
- Assisting with loading and unloading dogs safely
- Helping prepare dogs for their walks
- Supporting the team at our secure private dog walking field
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment and dog areas
- Helping ensure the dogs are safe, happy and well cared for
- Learning about professional dog walking and handling
- Getting an insight into how a successful professional dog walking business operates
You’ll have the opportunity to learn from an established team and develop practical skills that can be valuable when looking for future employment or setting up your own career within the pet industry.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is:
- Genuinely passionate about dogs
- Reliable, punctual and responsible
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically active and happy to be on their feet
- Calm, patient and confident around dogs
- Willing to learn and take direction
- Friendly and professional
- A good team player
- Able to drive a manual vehicle and hold a full UK driving licence
Previous experience with dogs is helpful but not essential. What's most important is having the right attitude, being willing to learn and putting the welfare of the dogs first.
