Graduate Teaching Assistant
Not every classroom success starts at the front of the room.
Sometimes it starts beside a pupil who just needed someone patient enough to understand them.
At Sense Education, we’re working with a welcoming and inclusive school in Leeds looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). This isn’t a “stand at the back and observe” kind of role – you’ll become a trusted part of a child’s school experience, helping build confidence, communication, independence and those brilliant little breakthrough moments that genuinely matter.
What your day could look like:
· Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
· Helping students engage with learning in creative and practical ways
· Working closely with teachers, SEND staff and pastoral teams
· Encouraging confidence, communication and positive routines
· Celebrating the small wins that make a huge difference
Who would thrive in this role?
Graduates from:
· Psychology
· Sociology
· Education
· Childhood Studies
· Criminology
· Speech and Language
· Or any relevant degree
Whether you’re considering teaching, educational psychology, therapy, social work or simply want meaningful experience in a school environment – this role gives you real, hands-on development.
