Due to continued growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Apprentice Welder / Fabricator to join our skilled engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is currently studying welding and fabrication and looking to develop their practical skills, or for an individual who is interested in starting a career in welding and would like to gain recognised qualifications through an in-house apprenticeship programme.
The Role
The successful candidate will work alongside our experienced engineers and welders, gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of engineering projects. - Welding preparation and finishing
- Fabrication and metalwork processes
- Reading and understanding engineering drawings
- Boiler repairs and maintenance
- Pipework fabrication and installation

- Site-based installation and repair work
Over time, you will gain the experience and confidence required to work towards coded welding qualifications, with opportunities to complete relevant training courses and potentially undertake an NVQ qualification in Welding and Fabrication through a local college.
Training and Development
We are committed to developing the next generation of skilled engineers. Full training will be provided and tailored to the successful candidate’s existing knowledge and experience.
Whether you are already attending a welding course or starting from the beginning, you will receive guidance from experienced professionals and have the opportunity to build a long-term career within the engineering industry.
You will learn:
- Safe working practices within an engineering environment
- Professional welding standards and techniques
- Fabrication methods and workshop skills
- Quality control and attention to detail
- Working independently and as part of a team
Working Hours
The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, with flexibility required to meet the needs of our customers and ongoing projects.
Due to the nature of our work within the industrial and heritage boiler sectors, occasional weekend work may be required, including planned shutdowns, specialist installations, repairs, or time-sensitive projects.
Where weekend or additional hours are required, this will be discussed in advance and will provide valuable experience working on a wide variety of engineering projects across different environments.
The role may also involve occasional travel and working away from home when required for UK-wide projects.
