We're looking for an experienced Managing Editor who will oversee our editorial operations, maintain the highest quality standards, and lead a talented team of editors and proofreaders. Key Responsibilities
Editorial Leadership: Lead the daily operations of the editorial team, ensuring projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
Quality Assurance: Review edited content for grammar, style, consistency, formatting, and overall quality before final delivery to clients.
Workflow Management: Coordinate multiple editorial projects simultaneously while balancing priorities, resources, and deadlines.
Team Development: Mentor editors and proofreaders through coaching, feedback, and regular quality reviews to support their professional growth.
Client Collaboration: Work directly with clients to understand project objectives, communicate progress, resolve editorial questions, and deliver exceptional service.
Editorial Standards: Develop, maintain, and continuously improve editorial guidelines, style manuals, and quality control procedures across all content types.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: At least 5 years of professional editing experience, including previous responsibility for managing editorial projects or leading editorial teams.
Editorial Expertise: Exceptional command of written English with advanced editing, proofreading, copy editing, and content review skills.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to motivate teams, manage workloads, delegate effectively, and maintain high editorial standards.
Organization: Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence working alongside clients, editors, and internal stakeholders.
Mindset: You're highly organized, solutions-focused, and committed to continuous improvement. You enjoy building efficient editorial processes while helping others perform at their best.
Pay: £39,000.00-£45,081.62 per year
