Job Introduction
We are currently recruiting for a shift based Quality Assistant within the Quality Department to monitor production line quality, check line documentation, collect and log samples, acceptance of bulk deliveries, carry out GMP, glass, knife and BRCGS audits, support production with training, complete and analyse product as and when required.
We manufacture soft drinks from one of the most up to date, technologically advanced factories in the UK. We have 3 PET Bottling Lines and 3 Canning Lines at present.

The Quality Assistants role will involve working 12 hour based shift pattern of 2 day shifts (6am-6pm) and 2 night shifts (6pm to 6am).
An example of some of the duties required from the successful applicant will be to:

Carry out a complete QA/QC check on the line for each production run while on shift (Independent check to support production).

Completing, verifying and organising all quality control and production paperwork accurately.

Place finished product / raw materials etc. in quarantine as required.

Work with technical and production teams to assist in problem solving and implementation of corrective actions.

Complete internal audits as per schedule e.g. GMP, glass, knife, CLAS, Environmental and BRCGS audits.

Complete daily and weekly calibrations.

Assisting in the development and review of quality control policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Collect and log samples to agreed sampling plan (raw materials, microbiological, finished product).

Carry out tests / analysis to agreed sampling plan and methods (finished product, raw material).

Promoting a strong quality and hygiene awareness culture among all employees.
Ideally the successful candidate will have the following skills:
- Previously worked in the food industry (within Quality Assurance/Quality Control)
- Has attention to detail.
- Able to problem solve / take the initiative.
- Happy to work unsupervised.
- Has received food hygiene / HACCP training.
- Ability to efficiently organise workload.
- Good communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Excel and Word
You must have UK Right to Work, the company does not offer any kind of sponsorship.
Access to own transport as no public transport is available for continental shift pattern due to remote location.
