Full job description

Overview

We're looking for a skilled and reliable handyperson to join our team on a self-employed basis. The ideal candidate has a broad range of practical skills and can confidently tackle maintenance, repair, and small renovation jobs across residential and commercial properties. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their craft, enjoys problem-solving, and wants varied work without being tied to a fixed schedule.

What you'll be doing

General handyperson work in domestic and commercial properties across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Central Scotland
Flatpack furniture assembly (IKEA and similar)
TV mounting, shelving, picture hanging, curtain poles and blinds
Minor plumbing repairs (taps, toilet seats, waste traps, silicone work)
Minor carpentry and joinery (door adjustments, skirting, trim, locks and handles)
Painting, filling, caulking and general decorating touch-ups
Light bathroom and kitchen fitting tasks
Building and repairing sheds and decking

Desirable

Scribing in filler panels
Moving sockets
Installing lights and other small electrical works

What we're looking for

Proven hands-on experience as a handyperson, joiner, multi-trader, or similar
Own tools and reliable transport
Professional, tidy, and well-presented — you'll be working in customers' homes
Good communication: arrives on time, keeps the customer informed, leaves the job clean
