Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Labourer to join a 3/1 bricklaying gang, contributing to dynamic construction projects that bring building visions to life. In this role, you will assist skilled bricklayers and masons by preparing materials, handling tools, and supporting various construction tasks. Your energy and attention to detail will help ensure projects progress smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in masonry, within a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist bricklayers and masons by preparing and organizing materials such as bricks, mortar, and tools on-site
- Handle hand tools and power tools safely to support bricklaying and masonry tasks
- Support the setup of scaffolding, ladders, and safety barriers to ensure a secure work environment
- Aid in the mixing and application of mortar or concrete as directed by skilled tradespeople
- Carry out general site cleanup, waste removal, and material transportation to maintain a tidy work area
- Follow safety protocols at all times to promote a safe working environment for everyone on site
Requirements
- Experience using hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels
- Basic understanding of bricklaying, masonry, or construction practices is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively
- Knowledge of carpentry or roofing techniques is a plus but not required
- Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward safety and quality standards
- Valid work authorization for the region where the project is located
