Full job description

Are you a compassionate, patient and reliable individual who wants to make a real difference in someone’s life? We are currently looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Support Workers to join our friendly team at Invercare.

As a Support Worker, you’ll provide person-centred care and support to individuals with but not limited to learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and physical disabilities.

Job Title: Support Worker
Salary: £13.45 per hour
Job Type: Full-time available
Hours: full and part time

Key responsibilities:

Provide personal care: Assist with daily activities such as washing, dressing, toileting, and feeding, where required.
Promote independence: Encourage and support service users to make choices and live as independently as possible.
Support daily living: Help with meal preparation, cleaning, shopping, and managing medication.
Emotional support: Offer companionship, build trust, and provide reassurance and encouragement.
Monitoring and reporting: Observe and record changes in physical or emotional health, and report concerns to senior staff.
Community involvement: Assist individuals in accessing the community, attending appointments, or participating in social activities.
Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and well-being of service users, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of support provided and outcomes achieved.

What we’re looking for

Caring, empathetic, and enthusiastic nature
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and evenings
Experience in a similar role or relevant qualification for health and social care but not essential as training will be provided.
There is a requirement for sleepovers for this role

Desirable:

Experience in a care or support role
SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards it)
