About the Role:
Lisburn is becoming an increasingly important location for technology and professional services, and at Magezi Solutions Ltd, we help organisations modernise complex systems through secure, scalable, and practical technology solutions.
We are looking for a Principal Solutions Architect who can take ownership of solution architecture across major client and internal transformation programmes. You will translate business objectives into clear technical strategies, guide engineering teams, and ensure that proposed solutions are secure, reliable, cost-effective, and suitable for long-term growth.
This is a high-level technical leadership position rather than an executive management role. You will influence technology decisions, mentor experienced technical professionals, and act as a trusted adviser to clients and senior stakeholders.
Why Work With Us?
The Environment:
Our Lisburn office provides a professional and collaborative setting with convenient access to Belfast and the wider Northern Ireland technology community. We support flexible working while maintaining regular opportunities for in-person collaboration.
Technical Influence:
You will have meaningful input into architecture standards, technology selection, delivery methods, and long-term platform strategy from your first day.
Modern Technology:
Our work includes cloud platforms, enterprise applications, APIs, data integration, cyber security, DevOps, and modern software architecture. We select technologies based on business needs rather than following trends without purpose.
Professional Growth:
You will receive support for relevant professional certifications, technical conferences, specialist training, and continued development in areas such as cloud architecture, cyber security, enterprise integration, and artificial intelligence.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture Ownership:
Design end-to-end technical solutions that meet business, security, operational, performance, and regulatory requirements.
Technical Discovery:
Lead technical discovery sessions with clients, business analysts, product teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, constraints, risks, and priorities.
Architecture Documentation:
Produce solution designs, architecture diagrams, technical roadmaps, decision records, integration specifications, and implementation guidance.
Cloud and Platform Strategy:
Recommend appropriate cloud, hybrid, or on-premises solutions based on security, scalability, resilience, cost, and organisational readiness.
Technical Governance:
Establish and maintain architecture standards. Review proposed designs to ensure consistency, quality, security, and alignment with the wider technology strategy.
Engineering Collaboration:
Work closely with software engineers, cloud specialists, data professionals, cyber security teams, and delivery managers throughout the development lifecycle.
Risk Management:
Identify technical risks, dependencies, performance concerns, security weaknesses, and implementation challenges before they affect delivery.
Stakeholder Management:
Present technical recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Explain complex architecture decisions in a clear, commercially aware, and practical manner.
Technical Leadership:
Mentor architects and senior engineers, support design reviews, and encourage consistent architecture practices across multiple projects.
Continuous Improvement:
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend practical improvements that provide measurable value to clients and internal teams.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
At least 7 years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure, cloud technology, systems integration, or solution architecture, including substantial experience designing complex enterprise solutions.
Architecture Expertise:
Strong knowledge of distributed systems, application architecture, cloud services, APIs, data integration, identity management, security principles, scalability, resilience, and disaster recovery.
Cloud Knowledge:
Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform.
Technical Background:
A strong understanding of modern software development, DevOps practices, databases, networking, containerisation, monitoring, and enterprise integration.
Communication Skills:
You can communicate technical concepts confidently to engineers, clients, commercial teams, and senior decision-makers.
Leadership:
Previous experience mentoring technical professionals, leading architecture discussions, or guiding delivery teams without relying solely on formal line-management authority.
Problem-Solving:
You can assess complex requirements, compare technical options, identify trade-offs, and recommend solutions that balance quality, cost, speed, security, and maintainability.
Qualifications:
A degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
Professional certifications in cloud architecture, enterprise architecture, cyber security, or related technologies would be advantageous.
Mindset:
You are commercially aware, technically curious, and comfortable taking responsibility for important architectural decisions. You understand when a solution requires long-term strategic investment and when a simpler, practical approach is more appropriate.
Pay: £80,978.00-£112,728.00 per year
Work Location: In person
