Overview
We are seeking a proactive and personable Sales Assistant to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanour, and the ability to engage with diverse customers. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop sales expertise within a dynamic environment, supporting the organisation's growth and customer satisfaction. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to enhance their organisational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping experience
Provide product information and answer customer queries effectively
Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending suitable items
Maintain attractive merchandising displays in line with company standards
Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
Manage stock levels, organise stockroom, and ensure products are well-presented
Handle phone enquiries professionally, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth store operations
Keep the sales area clean, organised, and welcoming at all times

Skills

Fluency in English
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
Organised with excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently
Basic maths skills for handling transactions and cash register operations
Ability to upsell products by understanding customer needs and preferences
Professional phone etiquette when dealing with customer enquiries or follow-ups
Organisational skills to manage stock levels and maintain a tidy sales environment
