CNC Machinist – Setter/Operator
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: Up to £23 per hour
Shift: Early & late shift rotation
The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist / Setter-Operator to join a well-established manufacturing company based in Edinburgh.
The successful candidate will have hands-on experience operating and setting CNC machinery, with experience in either CNC milling or turning. You will be responsible for setting machines, producing high-quality components to specification, and ensuring all work meets required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC milling or turning machines.
- Work confidently with Fanuc-controlled machinery.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Carry out tooling changes, offsets and machine adjustments.
- Inspect components using appropriate measuring equipment.
- Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Troubleshoot basic machine and production issues.
- Work safely and efficiently within a busy manufacturing environment.
- Meet production targets while maintaining quality standards.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience as a CNC Setter/Operator.
- Experience with either CNC milling or CNC turning.
- Experience using Fanuc controls.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of CNC machining processes and tooling.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Desirable:
- CNC programming experience.
- Experience editing or modifying CNC programmes.
- Formal engineering or machining qualifications.
