Fire Door Carpenter / Maintenance Engineer£180–£200 Per Day | London | Immediate Start | Ongoing Work AvailableJoin One of London’s Fast-Growing Property Maintenance Companies

Optimal Maintenance Ltd is looking for an experienced Fire Door Carpenter / Maintenance Engineer to join our growing Maintenance Division across London.

This role is ideal for a skilled carpenter with strong experience in:

Fire door remedial works
Fire door installations
Fire door compliance
Fire stopping and adjustments
Understanding BM TRADA / FIRAS standards and current fire safety regulations

We are looking for someone who can confidently identify compliance issues, carry out high-quality remedial works, and ensure fire doors meet current regulations and certification standards.

The Role

You’ll be carrying out a mixture of:

Fire door installations
Fire door remedial works
Adjustments and easing
Replacing intumescent strips and smoke seals
Door closers and ironmongery upgrades
Fire stopping works
General carpentry maintenance
Property repair works across residential and commercial properties

You will also:

Identify non-compliant fire doors and advise on remedial solutions
Complete works in line with fire safety regulations
Liaise professionally with clients and tenants
Maintain accurate job records and photographs via smartphone

Requirements

Essential RequirementsRequired:

Minimum 5 years carpentry experience
Proven fire door experience
Good understanding of fire door compliance and regulations
Experience with fire door remedial works and installations
Ability to work independently and problem solve on site
Strong communication skills
Full UK driving licence
DBS Certificate/check
Smartphone literate

Highly Desirable:

FIRAS / BM TRADA experience
Own van and tools
Experience working within occupied properties
Basic multi-trade skills
