Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analysing, and overseeing the construction of various structural projects, ensuring safety, durability, and compliance with relevant standards. Duties

Develop detailed structural designs using specialised software, ensuring they meet project specifications and safety regulations.
Analyse existing structures to assess their integrity and recommend necessary improvements or reinforcements.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to coordinate project requirements and resolve technical issues.
Prepare comprehensive reports, calculations, and technical documentation for approval by relevant authorities.
Conduct site inspections during construction phases to monitor compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians involved in project execution.
Ensure all projects adhere to local building codes, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.

Experience

Proven experience as a Structural Engineer with a minimum of one year in the construction or civil engineering sectors.
Proficiency in structural analysis software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, or similar programmes, and able to do structural design and calculations on residential extensions, loft conversions and wall removals .
Strong understanding of UK building regulations, standards (e.g., Eurocode), and health & safety legislation.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting technical challenges.
Relevant degree in Civil or Structural Engineering recognised by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or equivalent professional body.
Membership or chartered status with a recognised professional organisation is desirable but not essential.
