Refugee Resettlement Key Worker

Claremont Living Group Ltd

Job Title: Refugee Resettlement Key Worker

Department: Resettlement, Asylum and Refugee Support Service

Reports To: Senior Refugee Resettlement Key Worker / Service Manager

Location: West Midlands with travel across Sandwell and surrounding areas

Contract: Full Time

Job Purpose

The Refugee Resettlement Key Worker provides holistic, person centred support to refugees, asylum seekers and resettled households to help them integrate successfully into the community. The role supports households from referral through to sustainable housing, employment, education and community integration. The Key Worker will coordinate support services, develop personalised support plans and work closely with partner organisations to ensure clients access the services they need to build independent and stable lives.

Key Responsibilities

Case Management

· Manage a caseload of refugee and asylum households

· Carry cases from referral through to case closure

· Conduct initial needs assessments with each household

· Develop personalised support plans with clear goals

· Review progress regularly and update support plans

· Maintain accurate and up to date case records

Housing and Tenancy Support

· Support households to understand tenancy agreements and housing responsibilities

· Assist with move on into suitable housing where required

· Liaise with housing providers and local authority teams

· Provide tenancy sustainment support including budgeting and home management

· Report housing issues and coordinate support with relevant teams

Access to Services

· Support clients to register with GPs, dentists and other health services

· Support access to ESOL classes and education services

· Assist with school placements for children

· Support access to benefits and financial assistance

· Support access to employment and training opportunities

Community Integration

· Introduce clients to local community resources and services

· Encourage participation in community groups and activities

· Provide guidance on UK systems including health, housing and education

· Support digital inclusion and access to technology

Safeguarding

· Identify safeguarding concerns and report appropriately

· Support vulnerable individuals experiencing trauma or complex needs

· Follow organisational safeguarding procedures at all times

· Work with partner agencies to manage safeguarding risks

Partnership Working

· Work closely with Local Authorities, housing teams and community organisations

· Coordinate support with partner agencies

· Attend multi agency meetings where required

· Support collaboration between services to meet household needs

Monitoring and Reporting

· Maintain accurate case notes and documentation

· Record outcomes and progress against support plans

· Provide updates to supervisors and service managers

· Ensure compliance with service and contract requirements

Person Specification

Essential

· Experience supporting vulnerable individuals or families

· Experience working in housing, support services or community services

· Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries

· Ability to manage a caseload and prioritise tasks

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies

· Good organisational and record keeping skills

· Full UK driving licence and ability to travel locally

Desirable

· Experience supporting refugees or asylum seekers

· Knowledge of housing systems and tenancy sustainment

· Understanding of welfare benefits and employment support

· Experience working with Local Authorities or commissioned services

· Community language skills
