We are seeking a Solicitor/Licensed Conveyancer/Legal Executive to join our established conveyancing team in our Stevenage Office. We are looking to appoint a Team Leader who is able to manage & mentor staff with the team. This is a genuine opportunity to develop your expertise within a supportive environment where your contribution will be immediately visible and valued. You'll work on a varied caseload across the full spectrum of residential property transactions—from straightforward purchases and sales to more complex matters involving leasehold properties, new build acquisitions, and remortgages. There's real scope here to refine your technical knowledge, build your own client relationships, and take on increasing responsibility as you progress.

Your day-to-day work will involve managing client transactions from instruction through to completion and beyond. You'll conduct property searches and enquiries, review and advise on contracts and supporting documentation, identify and resolve title issues, liaise with estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other practitioners, and ensure smooth financial flows at completion. You'll take the lead on matters within your portfolio, exercising your professional judgment while having access to more senior colleagues for guidance on complex issues. Strong communication is essential—you'll be explaining legal concepts and conveyancing procedures to clients who are often navigating this process for the first time, making clarity and reassurance key to your role.

Requirements

SRA-qualified solicitor (admitted to the Roll of Solicitors) Licensed Conveyancer or fully qualified Legal Executive (CILEx), with Practising Certificate in force
3–10 years post-qualification experience in residential conveyancing (or equivalent demonstrable competence if coming from a non-traditional route)
Strong technical knowledge of the conveyancing process, ideally with New Build experience, including Land Registry requirements, searches, enquiries, contract law, and completion procedures
Proficiency with case management systems and Microsoft Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal matters clearly to clients of varying backgrounds
Proactive, organised approach to managing multiple transactions simultaneously whilst meeting strict deadlines
Client-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering practical, commercially astute advice

This role is subject to SRA regulatory requirements, satisfactory References, Due Diligence checks, DBS clearance, and compliance with our Anti-Money Laundering policies.
