Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant (Domiciliary) to provide high-quality care to individuals in their own homes. This role offers an opportunity to support clients with a variety of needs, including elderly care, disability support, and specialised dementia or Alzheimer's care. The successful candidate will be committed to promoting independence and wellbeing, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all clients. This paid position is ideal for individuals passionate about making a positive difference in people's lives through personalised care.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
Provide medication administration following prescribed protocols
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
Support with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
Assist with specialised care needs including dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, or behavioural management
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required
Monitor and record health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals
Support with light physical activities or exercises to promote mobility and wellbeing
Respond promptly to emergency situations with appropriate first aid measures

Qualifications

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is desirable
Knowledge of patient care, dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, and senior care practices
Certification in first aid and basic life support is advantageous
Valid driving licence and ability to drive safely between client locations
Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards clients of all ages, including children and the elderly
Assist with mobility support
Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage behavioural challenges effectively
Organisation skills for medication management and documentation compliance
Flexibility to work varied hours as required by client needs
