We have a great opportunity to join our well-established team involved in the administration of the Council’s Community Infrastructure Levy and monitoring of S106 financial and non-financial obligations. The postholder will make a significant contribution to the sustainability of Cheshire East, which collects significant sums each year through the Development Management process to contribute to a wide range of infrastructure projects. The role is crucial to ensuring that correct notices are issued to developers and that procedures are followed. You will be involved in the creation of reports and assisting in the process of allocating S106 and CIL monies, and monitoring spend. This is a job in which you make a real difference.

About the Role:
The primary function of the role is to administer the Community Infrastructure Levy and to assist with s106 monitoring work. The casework is varied, from householder to major developments. You will provide CIL and S106 advice to colleagues within the Councils, while engaging with residents and developers to ensure compliance with CIL and S106 requirements.
An effective process to monitor and enforce developer contributions is essential to delivering vital community infrastructure to support Local Plan priorities. The monitoring of planning obligations ensures site specific mitigation of the impacts of new development for the benefit of residents, businesses and the local community. The postholder will also play a crucial role in the continual improvement of the service and be involved with the Council’s implementation of new regulations in relation to levies and obligations applicable to new development.

About you:
- You will need knowledge of the Community Infrastructure Levy, S106 agreements and CIL Regulations and how they apply to development.
- You must be customer focused and ideally have experience administering CIL or S106 agreements or working in Development Management.
- Being organised is key. You should have proven information management, numeracy and ICT skills.
- You will have the ability to work effectively and independently to meet deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills are essential. You will need good negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively to a wide audience and collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
- Above all you must be a real team player with a willingness to learn.
