We have an exciting opportunity for a Support worker to join our dedicated team in Maesteg, Bridgend. In this role, you will support people to build relationships, try new things, and feel part of their community – so that they can live good lives.
You will need to hold a full UK driving license for this role.
We are three men in a shared house with one other lady. We are looking for a support worker who can encourage us to do more - both in our home and in our local community.
One of the men said “I am looking for a support worker who enjoys doing Lego especially building cars and marvel Lego projects so an interest in this would be something I'd like you to have. I also like to go for a walk and will also be getting my own car soon – so will be looking forward to going out in my car. I also enjoy doing jigsaws and going to shows in the Town Hall. All of us like our home cooked meals so having cooking skills is important. ”
We would really love to become more independent and be able to do more of tasks ourselves, we really would like you to support us to learn new skills around our home. We love to decorate our home and have BBQs in the Garden and parties if you have the interests above, we love to meet you and welcome you to our support team”.
The lady of the house loves doing craft and playing bingo and going to visit family.
So, who are we I looking for? …. Someone who is calm and will take the time to help us express myself. We like banter and fun in our home so would prefer someone who is outgoing, and bubbly can make us laugh and has a good sense of humour! People who are fun to be with and will help us try out new things. And someone who likes music, walking, football and cooking. We prefer to have a driver as we have our own cars and use these to get and about.

What You'll Do
As a Support Worker, you will:
- Support people to do the things they enjoy, try new experiences, and live good lives.
- Assist with household tasks, shopping, meal preparation, personal care, and maintaining routines.
- Encourage and support people to strengthen relationships with family, friends, and their community.
- Work alongside professionals such as social workers, nurses, and occupational therapists to ensure people receive the best support.
- Listen to the people you support and support them to make choices about their lives.
