Deli Assistant 5 days per week
Overview
We are currently seeking a Deli Associate to join our team in a bustling deli environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and customer service, with a keen eye for detail. All shifts between the hours of 5am to 3pm so no late nights.
Duties
- Assist customers in selecting deli products and provide recommendations
- Prepare sandwiches, salads, and other deli items according to customer preferences
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli counter and kitchen area
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations
- Handle cash transactions and operate the till efficiently
- Support the team in stocking shelves and monitoring inventory levels
Skills
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently- Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen setting is advantageous- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and calculating portion sizes- Ability to work collaboratively and provide assistance where needed- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety practices- Familiarity with upselling techniques to promote deli products- A passion for culinary arts and an interest in the deli industry
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
