Altrad are seeking an experienced and highly organised Care & Maintenance Coordinator to support the safe, compliant and effective delivery of Care & Maintenance (C&M) activities within the warehouse facility at Sizewell C.
This role will be based at Sizewell C on a permanent basis and will act as the focal point for day-to-day C&M activities being delivered within the warehouse. Working closely with the C&M team, LLP, IP Operatives, Construction Engineers, Client Project Managers and other stakeholders, you will coordinate work packs, permits, authorisations, resources and enabling services to ensure activities are properly planned, safely executed and effectively recorded. The role will also provide on-site HSE leadership, oversee workforce engagement and support the resolution of operational issues, findings and NCRs.
Key Deliverables / Accountabilities:
- Act as the focal point for day-to-day C&M activities being delivered at the warehouse facility.
- Support the C&M team with the planning and preparation of C&M work packs, permits and other required authorisations.
- Ensure the safe and effective coordination and execution of C&M activities within the warehouse.
- Coordinate with the IPS and LLP to facilitate C&M personnel attending the warehouse, including enabling services, work areas, consumables and tooling.
- Coordinate access arrangements with the LLP.
- Coordinate the supply and storage of tooling and consumables through the LLP, including the timely provision, review and acceptance of COSHH assessments.
- Coordinate LLP IP Operative visits, inductions, Duty Holder cover and issue resolution.
- Raise SONIM requests and coordinate with relevant third parties.
- Oversee operational readiness and workforce engagement across C&M activities.
- Supervise C&M teams on site and work with the LLP to maintain a safe, compliant and well-controlled working environment.
- Report C&M progress, activities and status to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure the timely capture, organisation and submission of C&M records.
- Maintain the C&M Findings Log and coordinate with Construction Engineers and Client Project Managers to support timely resolution.
- Implement Standard Field Solution Work Packs where required.
- Work with relevant stakeholders to resolve operational issues and challenges and support the close-out of C&M findings and NCRs.
- Act as the on-site HSE operational lead, providing supervision and support while embedding a robust and effective safety culture.
- Ensure HSE is prioritised across all C&M activities and that appropriate Duty Holder cover and local HSE arrangements are in place with LLP support.
- Coordinate the implementation of the Safe System of Work, work authorisation and Permit to Work requests, including the approval of concurrent work requests.
- Conduct HSE checks during weekly walkdowns and report any deviations or areas requiring corrective action.
- Coordinate daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly safety meetings.
- Log incidents and accidents and track associated corrective actions through to completion.
- Communicate relevant safety alerts to C&M teams and stakeholders.
- Ensure induction processes comply with approved standards and project requirements.
- Act as Supervisor of the IP Operatives.
- Deliver Toolbox Talks and Daily Activity Briefs with LLP support.
- Ensure completion and verification of PoWRA requirements.
- Conduct regular pre-shift walkdowns with LLP support.
- Coordinate with the LLP and IP Operatives in relation to setting to work activities.
- Oversee and enforce appropriate standards of housekeeping throughout the warehouse and work areas.
- Monitor and document the effectiveness of issue resolution.
- Provide learning, feedback and support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across C&M activities.
Key Requirements / Qualifications:
- Engineering background with relevant experience applied to Care & Maintenance activities.
- Strong HSE background with a detailed understanding of UK regulations applicable to warehouse and maintenance activities.
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent, as a minimum requirement.
- Expert user of Microsoft Excel and other databases, with demonstrable data manipulation, numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent presentation, influencing and facilitation skills.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to develop relationships and maintain effective stakeholder networks.
- Strong understanding of procurement and logistics activities.
- Strong understanding of passive and active Care & Maintenance activities.
- Understanding of pertinent ONR Licence Conditions and their application.
- Proven experience successfully engaging and coordinating groups of stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a safety-critical and highly regulated environment.
- Strong ability to manage competing priorities, resolve issues proactively and maintain accurate records and reporting.
