Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food preparation and eager to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced catering or restaurant setting. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and excellent service delivery.

Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food safety procedures to ensure compliance with health standards
Support chefs and kitchen staff in preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and garnishing plates
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
Organise stock supplies and notify management of low inventory items
Help with serving food to customers or guests as required
Follow all safety protocols and hygiene standards during food handling and preparation
Support in setting up the dining area prior to service and clearing after service concludes

Experience

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Familiarity with meal preparation, food safety regulations, and kitchen hygiene practices is desirable
Experience in food preparation or culinary roles will be considered a plus
A proactive attitude with good organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Willingness to learn new skills related to food service and kitchen operations
