Location: Hybrid / Harpenden, Hertfordshire

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000

Hours: 40 hr. per week. Hours are flexible within office hours.

As an Embedded Software Engineer you will play an integral part in the business utilising your embedded software experience. You will work in a small multidisciplinary team to develop exciting new electronic products for a wide range of applications including medical devices, wearables and the Internet of Things.

The Position:

Work from customer requirements to define and develop new products

Collaborate in a team environment to deliver innovative solutions

Develop high quality embedded software in C / C++

Work on bare-metal, RTOS and embedded Linux environments

Board bring up and test

Liaise with customers to assist with integration, commissioning and problem resolution

This position involves occasional client meetings and writing technical reports, so a professional level of written and spoken communication is required.

Required Skills and Experience:

7+ years of embedded software and electronics design experience
Degree in Electronics, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline (or apprenticeship)
Embedded C / C++
Electronic Design
Good understanding of real-time systems
RTOS or Embedded Linux
Debugging software and hardware using JTAG, oscilloscopes, and serial comms
Proficient with Altium (or similar)
Write and speak English at a professional level

Desired Skills and Experience

Experience working with WIFI, Bluetooth, Zigbee
Python
Architect software and electronic designs
