The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Assessor to join our team, supporting learners to achieve their full potential through high-quality training and assessment. The Technical Assessor is responsible for managing a caseload of learners undertaking apprenticeship and training programmes, ensuring they receive high-quality teaching, learning, assessment, and support throughout their learning journey. The role involves designing and delivering engaging learning experiences, assessing occupational competence and knowledge, and supporting learners to successfully achieve their qualifications and apprenticeship standards. Working closely with employers, learners, and internal stakeholders, the Assessor plays a key role in learner recruitment, employer engagement, progress monitoring, and quality assurance while ensuring compliance with awarding body, funding, and organisational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of learners, ensuring timely progress, achievement and completion.
- Assess learners' occupational competence, knowledge, skills and behaviours in line with apprenticeship standards and awarding body requirements.
- Conduct learner enrolments, inductions, initial assessments and develop personalised training plans.
- Conduct regular learner reviews, provide feedback and implement interventions to support achievement.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with employers to support learner recruitment, engagement and programme growth.

Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in the relevant vocational discipline.
- Level 2 Maths qualification (or equivalent Functional Skills).
- Level 2 English qualification (or equivalent Functional Skills).
- TAQA, CAVA, A1 Assessor Award or equivalent assessor qualification.
- Willingness to work towards an assessor qualification if not already held.
Experience
- Relevant occupational experience within the Electrical Installation sector.
- Experience supporting, training, coaching, mentoring or developing others.
- Proven ability to achieve performance targets and deadlines.
- Experience working with diverse learner groups.
- Experience delivering apprenticeship programmes and/or conducting workplace assessments and learner reviews.
Knowledge & Skills
- Apprenticeship standards and assessment requirements
- Apprenticeship funding and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire learners to achieve their goals
