2 months contract with a Local Authority

Job Title: Laundry Driver

Job Purpose

To provide a reliable and professional laundry collection and delivery service to vulnerable residents across Milton Keynes, supporting their independence and wellbeing through excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Collect and deliver laundry to and from residents' homes across Milton Keynes.
Provide a friendly, courteous, and professional service to all residents.
Maintain accurate records of collections, deliveries, and vehicle usage.
Carry out routine vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is kept clean, safe, and roadworthy.
Report vehicle defects, maintenance issues, or accidents promptly.
Adhere to all Health & Safety, safeguarding, and Council policies and procedures.
Act as a positive ambassador for Milton Keynes City Council at all times.

Essential Experience

Experience in a customer-facing role.
Experience delivering excellent customer service.
Experience working independently and managing own workload.
Experience maintaining basic records and documentation.
Driving experience.

Essential Qualifications

Full UK Driving Licence.
Good standard of literacy and numeracy.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to provide a high standard of customer service.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and use own initiative.
Ability to maintain accurate records.
Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities.
Ability to safely carry out manual handling duties.
Awareness of Health & Safety requirements.

Additional Information

Pay: £15.58 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Working Hours:
Monday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
Tuesday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
Wednesday: 7:30am – 3:30pm
Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
Friday: 7:30am – 1:00pm
Based at Tower Drive Day Centre, Milton Keynes.
Community-focused role supporting vulnerable residents who require assistance with their laundry due to mobility issues, illness, or other care needs. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring service users receive a reliable, friendly and high-quality service.

We operate on a bi-weekly payment schedule.
