Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef/Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. In this entry-level role, you will play a vital part in supporting the kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, assisting with cooking, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation by chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients according to recipes and standards
Support the cooking process by following instructions from senior chefs and ensuring timely meal assembly
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene regulations
Prepare ingredients and components for various dishes, ensuring consistency and quality in every plate
Help with serving food to guests or during service periods, ensuring prompt and courteous delivery
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and notify supervisors when supplies need replenishing
Follow all safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for everyone in the kitchen

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
Strong team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude
Willingness to take direction, learn new skills, and contribute to a collaborative team atmosphere
