Full job description

Our Lunch Cover Nursery Assistants enable children to engage in a range of play and learning opportunities and to participate in the day to day activities within the nursery.

You will have passion and enthusiasm for safeguarding children and delivering high standards of care.

At least 3 months experience working with children
Experience serving food and dealing with hygiene practices is desirable, though training is provided
A passion and enthusiasm for childcare.
Great communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal.
Good timekeeping, organisation and reliability.

This role is Part-Time with an hourly rate of £13.46 per hour

To develop and maintain positive relationships with children and families. 
To assist with the planning and delivery of a wide range of activities to meet children’s needs. 
To work within the EYFS and promote high standards of care for the children. 
To help maintain a child-centred environment. 
To use observation and reflective practice to contribute to planning and evaluation in the setting. 
To maintain children’s safety and wellbeing at all times during attendance at the play setting and on trips to external facilities. 
To take any action required to ensure the safety and welfare of children and to report any concern immediately to the Nursery Manager. 
To ensure good communication with staff and parent’s / carers.

Desirable
A Paediatric First Aid Certificate

Essential

Ability to adhere to policies and procedures.
Sufficient understanding and use of English
Ability to work as a team member and organise own workload
Ability to be a reflective team member in order to develop your practice
Ability to communicate effectively with all children, staff and families
Ability to support an environment which is inclusive for all and encourages diversity.

Desirable

Ability to plan, provide and evaluate a wide range of play and learning opportunities which meet children’s individual needs

Essential

Experience of working with children aged under 5.
Experience of providing play and learning opportunities for children.

Desirable

Experience serving food and dealing with hygiene practices is desirable, though training is provided
