Location
This hybrid role is based in the UK, with office locations in Nottingham, Bicester, Manchester, London, and York.
Role Purpose
As a Senior Statistician, you will work across the business providing statistical analysis expertise, to support the successful delivery of client projects and internal workstreams. In this role, you would require support both on- and off- project from senior colleagues. You will be required to work closely with colleagues within multi-disciplinary project teams and externally with clients, external associates and third-party agencies to achieve project objectives.

Essential Functions
Technical - General

Demonstrates a broad range of technical skills and can work on some tasks independently
- Ensure quality control approaches are followed on all own projects and support given to junior members of the team in C activities. Supports efforts to improve QC practices and ways of working.

Clearly communicates approach and rationale in a client-facing project environment
Technical – HEOR specific

Will start to take more ownership of working deliverables, with contribution to entire 'section' of works. Examples include:

Writing sections of HTA dossiers for review by other team members

Writing up sections of analysis for review by other team members

Completing some areas of modelling independently (seeking follow-on QC from more experienced members of the team)

Project leadership and consulting

May lead smaller projects with support

Skills and Experience

Consultancy experience
- Worked in a client facing environment and understands delivery to time and budget, scoping, and managing competing project demands
- Collaboration
- Collaborates effectively with team members in the HEOR, wider PE and client team. Statisticians rarely work in isolation as they sit within multi-disciplinary teams such as Health Economists, Systematic Reviewers and Market Access colleagues
- Strong R programming
- R is our primary analysis tool, so proficiency is essential rather than desirable. Experience with GitHub for version control and code review is a significant plus
- Indirect treatment comparisons
- The most important technical area for this role. MAIC, STC, NMA and population-adjusted methods more broadly
- Statistical aspects of HTA
- Familiarity with what NICE and the other UK and European HTA bodies expect from the statistical components of a submission, and experience contributing to dossiers or technical documentation
- Survival analysis
- Standard parametric and flexible modelling for time-to-event endpoints, extrapolation, and an understanding of how these feed into economic models
Qualifications

A degree at 2:1 or above in an analytical subject (for instance mathematics, economics, engineering or scientific subject).

Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MSc or PhD) involving statistics or health economics are highly valued, but not an absolute requirement.
