We are looking for a motivated and experienced IUC Business Intelligence Analyst to join the Integrated Urgent Care Business Intelligence team at London Ambulance Service.
The post holder will provide high-quality analytical and reporting support for our Integrated Urgent Care and NHS 111 services. This will include information relating to activity, demand, operational performance, clinical assessment, call handling, staffing and referral outcomes.
The role will involve extracting, validating, manipulating and analysing complex information from a range of internal and external systems. The post holder will identify trends, exceptions, areas of good practice and areas of concern, and turn this analysis into clear and useful insight for operational teams, managers, senior leaders and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will develop and maintain business intelligence reports, dashboards, databases, spreadsheets and other analytical products using SQL Server, Power BI, Excel and related systems. They will also support managers and other users in understanding and interpreting complex information, particularly where data may be sensitive, conflicting or does not support initial expectations.
This would suit an analyst who enjoys working with complex operational data, solving problems and helping services make better use of their information.
The post holder will:
Produce regular and ad hoc statistical and performance information for operational teams, managers, senior leaders and external stakeholders.
Extract, validate, manipulate and analyse complex data from a range of internal and external systems.
Analyse activity, demand, operational performance, clinical assessment, call handling, staffing, telephony and referral outcome information.
Identify trends, exceptions, risks, areas of good practice, data quality concerns and opportunities for service improvement.
Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, databases, spreadsheets, SQL queries and other business intelligence products using SQL Server, Power BI, Excel and related analytical systems.
Present complex information clearly using charts, tables, graphs, maps, written summaries and presentations.
Provide advice and support to managers and other users in the interpretation and use of performance information.
Make recommendations based on detailed analysis to support operational decision-making and service improvement.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand their information requirements and deliver accurate, timely and fit-for-purpose outputs.
Continually review reporting requirements and adapt information provision in response to changing operational, organisational and national priorities.
Contribute to the development, testing and improvement of business intelligence systems, databases, spreadsheets and reporting processes.

The IUC Business Intelligence Analyst will provide high-quality business intelligence, performance reporting and analytical support for Integrated Urgent Care and NHS 111 services.
Working as part of the IUC Business Intelligence team, the post holder will support the production, development and interpretation of information used by operational teams, managers, senior leaders and external stakeholders.
The role will involve extracting, validating, manipulating and analysing complex and varied datasets from a range of internal and external sources. This will include information relating to activity, demand, operational performance, clinical assessment, call handling, staffing, telephony and referral outcomes.
The post holder will use their analytical knowledge and business intelligence expertise to identify trends, exceptions, problems, risks, areas of good practice and areas of concern. They will investigate issues, solve problems and make evidence-based recommendations to support operational performance, service improvement and strategic decision-making.
The successful candidate will develop and maintain business intelligence reports, dashboards, databases, spreadsheets and other analytical products using SQL Server, Power BI, Excel and related systems. They will create and maintain complex SQL queries, support the development of user-friendly reporting products and contribute to the continuous improvement of information gathering, reporting processes and business intelligence systems.
The post holder will present complex information in a clear and accessible way using charts, tables, graphs, maps, written reports and presentations. They will provide advice and support to managers and other users in the interpretation and analysis of information, particularly where data may be complex, conflicting, sensitive or does not support initial assumptions or expectations.
The role requires close working with operational services, clinical teams, senior managers, other Business Intelligence teams and external stakeholders. The post holder will work with these groups to understand their information requirements and ensure reporting outputs are accurate, timely and fit for purpose.
They will continually review information requirements and adapt reporting in response to changes within the department, the wider organisation and the national NHS environment. The post holder will be expected to manage competing priorities, organise their own workload and meet agreed reporting deadlines.
The post holder will contribute to the development, testing and ongoing improvement of information systems, databases, spreadsheets and reporting processes. They may also provide training and support to colleagues in the use and interpretation of information systems, dashboards, reports and statistics.
The role will include contributing to project work and service improvement initiatives, representing Business Intelligence at meetings and working groups and providing detailed analytical information and professional advice.
