About the role

The Warehouse Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities during an assigned shift, ensuring efficient operations, health & safety compliance, and team productivity. This role supervises warehouse staff, manages performance, and ensures that, picking and delivery, processes meet company standards.

You will be responsible for

Open or close the building at the beginning or end of shift
Manage and coordinate warehouse staff during assigned shifts
Ensure efficient picking, stacking, lines and loading of products
Monitor daily operations to meet productivity and performance targets
Enforce health, safe and legal regulations and company policies
Manage shift schedules, attendance, and staff performance
Train, coach, and develop team members
Resolve operational issues and escalate where necessary
Coordinate with other departments such as Telesales, Sale Accounts, and Buying Team
Ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment
Route planning and load plans considering any vehicles off road

You will need

Key Skills & Requirements

Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics (typically 2+ years)
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
Strong leadership and people management skills
Good understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS)
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Strong organisational and time management skills
Knowledge of health and safety regulations
Ability to work flexible shifts (including early/late & Saturdays if required)

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Order accuracy and availability fulfilment %
Pick rate performance per shift
Delivered on time/late
Health & safety compliance
Staff turnover and engagement
Training compliance

Working Conditions

Fast-paced warehouse environment
May require standing, walking, and lifting
Shift-based schedule (Morning, late, or Saturday shifts when required)
